Salmon baked in foil with dill and garlic

In this recipe, you can bake not only red fish, but other fatty fish: catfish, halibut.

Salmon steaks or fillet pieces of 180–200 g — 4 pcs.
Small fennel cabbage — 1 pc.
Salt — to taste
Freshly ground black pepper — to taste
Garlic — 4 cloves
Olive oil

Sprinkle with salt and pepper on both sides of the fish steaks. Peel and chop the garlic into fairly thin slices. Pour 5 tablespoons of oil into a small ladle, heat it, lower the garlic and fry it until golden brown. Pour garlic oil into a separate container. Ensure that the garlic does not burn.

  1. Heat the oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Remove stalks and leaves, damaged parts from fennel. Cut first in half, then into 8 pieces diagonally.
  3. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of fragrant oil into the pan, but without picking up garlic, fry the fennel on each side in oil until browning.
  4. Prepare the foil: cut it into large rectangular pieces. Put 2 slices of fried fennel in the center of each sheet of foil. Put the fish on the fennel and cover the fish with pieces of roasted garlic. Pour the rest of the steaks with garlic oil.
  5. Lift the edges of the foil sheet, connect at the top, but leave a small hole so that the steam can escape during baking.
  6. Carefully place the fish on a baking sheet and place it in the lower part of the preheated oven. Bake fish for 10-15 minutes — depending on the thickness of the steak and the power of the oven. Serve fish to the table hot.
